The problem

The path is not hard. It is just hard to see.

Around 1,300 programmes, three associations with their own rules, deadlines, transcript recognition, proof of language and coaches who answer differently in January than in June. Start alone and you lose months. Hire an agency and you often pay four figures for work you could largely steer yourself.

Too many options

Without filters for association, conference, course of study and region you are left with an alphabetical list. That helps nobody.

The wrong approach

Every coach spots a mass mailing in seconds. What counts is a message showing you really know the programme - and that you control yourself.

Missed deadlines

Application, eligibility centre, language test and visa are four separate calendars. One missed deadline costs a whole year.

How it works

From your profile to the first coach email

Three clear steps. You stay in control - the platform supplies data, structure and tools.

  1. 01

    Build your profile

Enter results, highlight videos, grades and sport-specific details. Link your social profiles. You see straight away how recruiting-ready your profile is.

  2. 02

    Discover colleges

Filter more than 1,300 programmes by association, sport, region, academic data from the College Scorecard and athletic figures. Guidance on fit and budget based on official sources.

  3. 03

    Contact coaches

Load coach contacts, write your message and follow the replies. You do the writing - the platform organises contacts, templates and the follow-up overview. Optional AI help for personalisation and sequences comes later.

Where we stand

Self-directed rather than outsourced

Recruiting agencies have their place, especially when families want to be relieved of the work entirely. But many athletes and parents want to steer the process themselves: get to know programmes, write with purpose and keep the overview. Roster Base is built for exactly that path - the data and tools you need, without giving up control and without a four-figure entry bill.

You decide which colleges you approach, and how. The platform makes the information and the organisation behind it visible and manageable.

Straight answers

Common questions, honest answers

When should I start recruiting?

Ideally 12 to 18 months before your planned college start. If you want to start in August 2027, you should have a profile and a highlight video by early 2026 at the latest. Later is possible too: many roster places are only filled in the spring before the season, and coaches keep looking into the summer. Starting early increases your choice and the size of the scholarship.

Do I really need a highlight video?

Yes. A US coach cannot fly to Europe to watch you play; your video is their scouting. Three to five minutes of match footage is enough, filmed from the touchline, ideally with an arrow or circle marking you. More important than picture quality is that complete actions are visible. Without a video almost all enquiries go unanswered.

What does Roster Base cost?

From EUR 39 a month, cancellable monthly. Further options such as a season pass and extended packages will follow. No annual commitment and no hidden placement fees. Data is held in the European Union, with infrastructure in Ireland among other places.

Does Roster Base replace an agency?

No and yes. Roster Base replaces the black box and the high entry costs of many agencies with self-service: you filter, you write, you keep the overview. Anyone who wants full personal support can still work with an agency. Many will use both alongside each other or choose the direct route deliberately.

Which associations and programmes are covered?

NCAA with Divisions I, II and III, plus NAIA and NJCAA - more than 1,300 programmes in total. The search combines College Scorecard data from the U.S. Department of Education with athletic information about the sports programmes.

Who is Roster Base for?

For European school students, athletes and student-athletes, mainly aged 16 to 22, from the launch countries who are seriously pursuing a US college sports programme and possibly a scholarship - and who want to approach the process in a structured way themselves.
